Fructose, the sweetest form of sugar, is found naturally in many fruits and is added to many processed foods. Some nutrition experts believe that this form of sugar is linked to modern disease epidemics including heart disease, cancer, kidney damage, hypertension and dementia.
A recent study published in the Journal of the American Dietetic Association found that people who consume large amounts of fructose in fruit juice are at increased risk of been stricken by rectal cancer. The British Dietetic Society suggests limiting consumption of fruit juice to one glass per day.
